Objective: To investigate the effects of Yangyin Shugan capsule on ovarian function in patients with primary ovarian insufficiency (POI)

and explore its mechanism of action. Method: In this randomized

double-blind trial

60 patients with POI were recruited and randomly divided into treatment group (Yangyin Shugan capsule

30 cases in each group. All patients were treated for 12 weeks. After treatment

the sex hormone levels (FSH

LH)

antral follicle count and ovarian blood were compared between the two groups. Result: As compared with control group

the levels of basal follicle-stimulating hormone (bFSH) and basal luteinizing hormone (bLH) were significantly lower in treatment group

so it was believed that Yangyin Shugan capsule had better effect on improving bFSH

bLH levels (P<0.05); the antral follicle count and ovarian blood flow were significantly improved in treatment group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Yangyin Shugan capsule can effectively regulate the basal sex hormone levels

increase the basal antral follicle counts and improve blood flow to improve the ovarian function in patients with POI

with obvious clinical efficacy.
