Objective: To study the effective hemostatic components of Loropetalum chinense.Method: With blood coagulation/bleeding time in mice as the primary outcome
the different extract parts (water
30%
60%
80%
and 95% ethanol extracts) were tested for hemostatic activity. The compounds were isolated and purified by various chromatographic methods such as silica gel
ODS
Sephadex LH-20.Their structures were identified according to the physical and chemical properties and spectral data.Result: The results showed that 60% ethanol extracts had the shortest blood coagulation/bleeding time
with strongest anticoagulant effect. Nine compounds were isolated from 60% ethanol extracts and identified as tiliroside (1)
4-O-diocaffeoylquinic acid(9). All of the compounds except 1 and 4 were isolated from the plant for the first time. Conclusion: The 60%ethanol extracts of L.chinense have strong anticoagulant effect
and phenolic acids act as the main effective hemostatic component.
