Objective: To analyze the prescription rules of formulae containing Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma in Chinese Pharmacopoeia and Pharmaceutical Standard of Ministry of Public Healthof the People's Republic of China-Chinese Patent Drug (hereinafter referred to as Chinese Patent Drug). Method: Through TCMISS(V2.5)
formulae containing Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma in Chinese Pharmacopoeia and Chinese Patent Drug were selected and collected to build the database. Frequency count
association rules and other data mining methods were used to analyze symptoms
syndromes and combination rules
and relevant in-depth analysis was made for high-frequency medicine pairs and syndromes. Result: There were a total of 197 prescriptions containing Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma
involving 391 kinds of traditional Chinese medicines
67 commonly used medicine pairs
mainly 14 symptoms and seven syndromes.According to the analysis for high-frequency medicine pairs of Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma and Angelicae Sinensis Radix and Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma and Carthami Flos and high-frequency syndromes of ‘Qi-stagnation and blood stasis’ and ‘Qi-deficiency and blood stasis’
Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma had almost the same effect in different medicine pairs
but different effects to varied syndromes. Conclusion: The formulae containing Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma in Chinese Pharmacopoeia and and Chinese Patent Drug have the effect of promoting the blood stasis and relieving the pains
and is usually combined with medcines for activating blood
reinforcing and regulating Qi. The prescription rules and characteristics provide basis for clinical R&D of new drugs. And drug combinations for ‘Qi-stagnation and blood stasis’ and ‘Qi-deficiency and blood stasis’ provides theoretical basis for studying the activating and tonifying effects of Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma.
