Peroral administration of 500、1000 or 2000 mg/kg of the decoction Chaihu Qinggan Tang signnificantly inhibited the increment of capillary permeability induced by local injection of histamine

5-HT or PEG2 on the rat skin and the granulomatous hyperplasia caued by cotton ball implantation as well.These findings suggested that both exudation in the early stage and granulomatous hyperplasia in the late stage of the inflammation were inhibited by the decoction. The efficiency of the decoction was weaker as compared with that of hydrocortisone(10mg/kg).No side-effect on the immune organs was observed.
