could lower body temperature along with a decrease of 5-hydroxy tryptamine (5-HT)content in hypothalamus in febrile rats induced by zymosa. On the other hand
it made fallen temperature rise and increased the 5-HT level in hypothalamus in hypothemic rats induced by aminopyrine. The results showed that Fr.A regulate temperature in a dual-direction pattern and the mechanism was partially related with its influence on content of 5HT in hypothalamus;and its antipyretic effect was associated with its reducing the contents of NE and DA in hypothalamus.
