Objective: To observe the effect and the safety of Yangxin Tongmai Xiaobi decoction (YTXD) on chest stuffiness and pains with syndrome of qi deficiency and combined stasis of phlegm and blood. Method: Using prospective study method
64 patients with chest stuffiness and pains were divided into two groups randomly: the treated group and the controlled group (n=32 each). The former was given self-designed YTXD and the later was given Baoxinning capsule. The period of treatment was 4 months. Items such as symptoms
electrocardiogram
and adverse reactions were examined before treatment and after treatment. Result: The total efficacy rate in the treated group was 90.7%
the rate of the controlled group was 78.1%. Primary symptoms and total integral of electrocardiogram after the treatment of both groups were significantly reduced (P<0.05). No adverse reaction was found on routine blood test
routine urine test
and liver and kidney function test. Conclusion: YTXD is safe and reliable for treating chest stuffiness and pains with syndrome of Qi deficiency and combined stasis of phlegm and blood.
