Objective:To develop high performance capillary electrophoresis (HPCE) fingerprints of Flos Farfarae and to provide the scientific basis for quality control of it. Method: Electrophoresis was performed on a 75 μm× 57 cm (effective length is 50 cm) fused silica capillary. 30 mmol·L-1 sodium borate contained 25% methanol adjusted to pH 8.8 was applied as the background electrolyte. The running voltage was 20 kV
the detection wavelength was at 214 nm and the temperature was kept at 25 ℃. Result: The HPCE fingerprint established from the 15 batches of the Flos Farfarae showed 26 characteristic common peaks
among which 6 peaks were recognized. Conclusion: The method is reliable
accurate
simple and quick. It provides a reliable method for the scientific quality evaluation of Flos Farfarae.
