Objective: To study the changes of procyanidin B2 and epicatechin in artificial gastric juice and artificial intestinal juice. Method: The content of procyanidin B2 and epicatechin in artificial gastric juice and artificial intestinal juice was determined by HPLC. Result: The content of procyanidin B2 and epicatechin in the acidic artificial gastric juice increased significantly with time
and the pepsin had little effect on them.The content of procyanidin B2 and epicatechin in artificial intestinal juice without trypsin also increased
and the trypsin could reduce the content and had some effect on procyanidin B2. Conclusion: Acidic artificial gastric juice may be the main reason for the increased content of procyanidins B2and epicatechin in the Fagopyri Dibotryis Rhizoma extraction
and the binds of pancreatin and procyanidin B2 and epicatechin may be the main reason of the reduced content.
