Objective: To study the fatty acids of fruits of Xylocarpus granatum. Method: The gas chromatography and mass spectrometry was used in the study. The fatty acids of fruits of X. granatum were extracted by refluxing with anhydrous methanol and were abstracted with petroleum ether and were esterified with sulfuric acid-methanol. Result: In fruits of X. granatum
were detected to have eleven kinds of fatty acids. There were five kinds of unsaturated acids and the total amount were 81.97%.Respectively

15-octadecatrienoic acid was the highest. Conclusion: This study may provide scientific reference for the pharmacological use of X. granatum.
