Objective: To establish a method for determining dissolution of lactucin in total sesquiterpenes from Cichorium glandulosum dropping pills. Method: Paddle method was adopted in which artificial gastric juice was taken as solvent with a rotating speed of 100 r·min-1.Dissolution of lactucin was determined by HPLC and dissolution curves were drawn

28% -72% A) and detection wavelength was set at 256 nm. Result: Lactucin was linear over the range of 0.015-0.075 g·L-1 with r of 0.999 and average recovery was 101.04% with RSD of 1.38%.Taking artificial gastric juice containing 0.2% sodium dodecyl sulfate as dissolution medium
dissolution of samples were all more than 80% in 30 min. Conclusion: This method is simple
accurate and reliable for dissolution determination of total sesquiterpenes from Cichorium glandulosum dropping pills.
