Mori Folium is one of traditional Chinese medicines in China. Eight monomer alkaloids have been isolated from Mori Folium. Modern pharmacological studies have confirmed that these compounds have efficient activities of glucosidase inhibition

insulin secretion and inhibition of glycogenolysis. This article focused on the research progress of the monolithic structure

biological activity

extraction and purification technology and testing methods

by studying the chemical structure and properties of alkaloids

and analyzing its various content detection methods

to provide reference for the improvement of detection method of alkaloids. The current method for the determination of Mori Folium alkaloids focused on the study of its deoxynojirimycin(DNJ)

relatively few studies on the total alkaloids content. On the basis of DNJ determination method

it is necessary to establish an appropriate method for the determination of total alkaloids Mori Folium

thus to provide a basis for the rational development and utilization of Mori Folium resources.
