Objective: To establish the multi-wavelength chromatographic fingerprints of Dahuang Xiaoshi dropping pill based on chromatographs of HPLC-PDA
and determine the contents of geniposide
berberine hydrochloride and crocin. Method: The multi-wavelength chromatographic fingerprints and determination 10 batches of homemade pills were performed
with geniposide
berberine hydrochloride and crocin as reference peak. The Similarity Evaluation System for Chromatographic Fingerprints of Traditional Chinese Medicine (2004A) was used for data analysis. Result: As a result
six common peaks were pointed out at 238 nm
three common peaks were pointed out at 345 nm
and eight common peaks were pointed out at 440 nm. Dahuang Xiaoshi dropping pill from different batches showed a similarity of above 0.9 in HPLC fingerprint chromatogram. Conclusion: This method is highly characteristic and specific. The multi-wavelength HPLC fingerprint and the determination of geniposide
berberine hydrochloride and crocin can be used for the quality control.
